POSITION PROFILE

 

The Accounting & Payroll Analyst is responsible for supporting the organization's accounting operations, financial reporting processes, payroll administration, and internal controls. This position performs general ledger analysis, account reconciliations, payroll processing, budget monitoring, commission calculations, and month-end close activities while ensuring compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and applicable regulatory requirements. The role also supports audit activities, inventory control processes, and operational financial analysis to contribute to sound financial management and decision-making.

 

 

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Monitor operating expenses (OPEX), budgets, and financial performance through variance analysis and management reporting.
  • Analyze general ledger accounts, prepare balance sheet reconciliations, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
  • Participate in monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, adjustments, and supporting analyses.
  • Process payroll accurately and timely, including payroll reconciliations, quarterly payroll filings, and commission calculations.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with applicable labor, tax, and regulatory requirements.
  • Reconcile customer deposits, credit card transactions, and other treasury-related activities to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Support the administration and control of non-productive purchases and other operational financial transactions.
  • Participate in physical inventory counts and related reconciliation activities.
  • Prepare documentation and analyses required for internal and external audits.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, internal controls, and financial governance standards.
  • Safeguard confidential employee, payroll, and financial information.
  • Support continuous process improvements and perform other related accounting and payroll duties as assigned.

 

 

 

Qualifications (Education, Experience and Certifications)

 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, payroll processing, or related finance functions.
  • Experience with general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, payroll administration, and month-end closing activities.
  • Experience supporting audits and compliance activities preferred.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and payroll platforms.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
  • Bilingual (Spanish-English) preferred.

  • Primarily performed in a professional office environment with standard lighting, ventilation, and office equipment.
  • Position is classified as sedentary work, requiring prolonged periods sitting and working on a computer.
  • Regular use of a computer, calculator, telephone, printer, scanner, and other office equipment.
  • Requires visual concentration and attention to detail for reviewing financial records, payroll data, reconciliations, and reports.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet recurring deadlines, particularly during payroll cycles, month-end closing, budgeting, and audit periods.
  • Occasional standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting of office materials up to 10 pounds may be required.
  • Periodic participation in physical inventory counts may require extended standing and walking within warehouse or storage areas.
  • Work is generally performed in a low-noise office environment.
