POSITION PROFILE:

 

The Workshop Technician is responsible for providing technical support to the workshop and operations team. This includes the assembly, testing, servicing, repair, and preparation of multifunction devices, laptops, tablets, interactive whiteboards and any other devices or solution distributed by Ricoh. The role requires a high level of technical expertise and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

 

 

 

Job Duties and responsibilities: other duties may be assigned

 

  • Diagnose, repair, install and/or provide end-user training on equipment (hardware) and/or solutions (software applications), as assigned.
  • Provide support to less experienced technicians and/or in the field as needed and coordinated by their direct Supervisor. Manage their time correctly and achieve expected productivity according to the parameters established by the Company.
  • Efficient use of tools and equipment provided by the Company.
  • Properly manage and handle the inventory of parts, materials and maintain an updated inventory list as needed by the workshop area to ensure compliance with safety, cost and parts availability parameters for quality service.
  • Maintain effective communication with their direct Supervisor and comply with all their instructions.
  • Participate in group and/or Company meetings as assigned.
  • Participate in all assigned training and self-study programs to maintain required knowledge.
  • Maintain the workshop area organized and compliance with the safety standards established by the company.
  • Active participation in special projects as assigned.
  • Contribute ideas or suggestions that help achieve the objectives established by the Company.
  • Work and maintain the required standards of job security as part of their essential functions.
  • Implement, maintain and review security measures defined by the asset owners.
  • Understand and become familiar with all applicable information security and environmental conservation policies, standard procedures and legislation.
  • Report and record any incidents, vulnerabilities and opportunities for improvement in Information Security and ISO 14001.
  • Safeguard the company's information and that which has been entrusted to him/her.
  • Conduct quality inspections on products and parts.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Prepare finished products for delivery.
  • Provide first-line technical support and parts identification.
  • Keep records of all workshop resources and monitor their usage.
  • Supervise and coordinate the use of workshop equipment.
  • Set up hardware and install and configure software and drivers.

Maintain and repair technological equipment (e.g., routers, printers, and peripheral devices).

  • Install well-functioning LAN/WAN and other networks and manage components (servers, IPs, etc.).
  • Manage security options and software in computers and networks to maintain privacy and protection from attacks.

 

 

Qualifications: (Education, Experience and Certifications)

 

  • Associate's degree in Electronics, Computer Information Systems or related field from an accredited university and one (1) to two (2) years of related experience.
  • Proven experience as a computer technician or similar role.
  • Experience with LAN/WAN networks.
  • Thorough knowledge of computer systems and IT components.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+) will be an advantage:
  • A+
  • Server+
  • Network+
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively.

 

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, Skills And Abilities:

 

  • Ability to lift, move large and heavy items without assistance is required.
  • Frequently uses hands and fingers to operate tools, repair equipment and operate motor vehicles.
  • Ability to use common office or electronic equipment such as computers, facsimiles, printers, calculators, cell phones, tables, etc.
  • Ability to analyze problems, apply common sense to understand written, oral instructions or diagrams.
  • Ability to handle problems involving concrete variables in standard situations.
  • Mastery of both, verbal and written communication skills that allow you to express yourself with clarity and accuracy in English and Spanish with internal or external personnel at any hierarchical level.
  • Attention to detail and Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Exceptional organizing and time-management skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing work environments and assignments.
